Hotel Colli was born from the legacy of Don Atilio Colli—a man of the sea from San José del Cabo, the son of an Italian immigrant and a local woman. A captain of large-tonnage vessels and a pioneering figure in the tuna industry, Atilio’s character was forged on the open ocean. Together with his wife, Doña Alicia Ceseña, he built a family of six children in Cabo San Lucas, living by the shoreline near the historic site known as La Empacadora.

After decades spent navigating the seas, and with a visionary understanding of the region’s future in tourism, Don Atilio constructed Hotel Colli in 1972—a humble seven-room lodge adjoining his family home in San José del Cabo. With Doña Alicia’s warmth and attention to detail at the heart of guest relations, they welcomed their first visitors, many of them American fishermen. Before long, the hotel became a beloved local landmark.

Today, Hotel Colli is proudly led by the third generation of the Colli Ceseña family, who continue to honor the memory of its founders with the same spirit of hospitality, perseverance, and tradition that inspired its creation more than fifty years ago.
